- Blower-Door Testing and Air-Leakage Diagnostics: Blower-door testing measures how much air leaks through the building envelope. The results help identify air-sealing opportunities and provide measured airtightness data for retrofit planning.
- Energy Modelling and Upgrade Comparisons: Energy modelling can compare insulation, windows, air sealing, heating and cooling equipment, ventilation and other proposed improvements. This helps the project team evaluate different upgrade combinations before construction begins.

- CSA F280-12 Heat-Loss and Heat-Gain Calculations: When heating or cooling equipment is being replaced, a CSA F280-12 calculation determines the home’s design loads. These results help the mechanical contractor select appropriately sized HVAC equipment.
- Renovation Team Coordination: For larger projects, Thrive Energy can coordinate energy-performance objectives with the homeowner, designer, renovator and mechanical contractor. Early coordination helps identify conflicts before work begins.
- Post-Retrofit Testing and Documentation: After the upgrades are completed, Thrive Energy can perform post-retrofit testing, update the energy model and provide applicable EnerGuide or rebate-supporting documentation.
CleanBC and Home Renovation Rebate Support
Thrive Energy helps homeowners understand the technical requirements associated with the Home Renovation Rebate Program and CleanBC Home Efficiency Rebates. Available programs depend on the home, utility provider, existing heating system, proposed upgrades and current eligibility requirements.
