MLI Select by CMHC
MLI Select is a mortgage insurance product offered by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). It is designed to support the development and refinancing of affordable rental housing projects. The goal of MLI Select is to make it easier for housing providers to access financing, especially when the projects promote energy efficiency, accessibility, or affordability.
Both new construction and existing rental housing properties are eligible.
This program allows for lower interest rates, longer amortization periods, and higher loan amounts, reducing the financial burden for housing providers.
To access this program, a full Energy Evaluation needs to be conducted to demonstrate that the project will meet the requirements. We have conducted multiple successful MLI Select projects and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
